If I’m subscribed to several communities on related topics, when u crosspost I just see the same link several times in my feed with no comments below it, it’s so annoying
There’s some tankies on hexbear but overall I find the people I interact with on there pretty lovely. The other two tankie comms are just straight tankie.
Not worrying about this shit and posting in the communities that interest you
This is for when there are multiple comms across instances, for example there’s !science@mander.xyz and !science@lemmy.world and a .ml version
Same with !memes@sopuli.xyz !memes@lemmy.world and the .ml version
If your interest is in science, it costs you nothing to post to mander.xyz’s version and is a cheap contribution to the overall health of the Fediverse
If the only version of a comm is on .world, that’s fine, that’s not what the meme is about (though if it’s on the Tankie Triad, I’d encourage you to create your own community on your home instance, which also contributes to your home instances growth)
Ohhh right that’s fair, my bad
I run my own instance and I just never post anything anywhere. I just shitpost comments in everybody else’s business. Thanks for all the memes internet people.
Corndog.social and moist.catsweat are hilarious instance names
I originally used corndog.uk because *.uk domains are extremely cheap and I thought it combined a stereotypically American thing with a UK domain which struck me as funny. Then I decided to use the social TLD and now I’m locked into paying $23 a year just for the name.
Thanks for validating my dumb ideas.
Hey that’s not a bad idea…
💫✨🌟 Post on my own server 🌟✨💫
(Will never get seen)
My posts on sappho.social do alright 🤷♀️
Can you link me some communities???
There’s only !herfriend@sappho.social ATM. It was the reason I created the instance. I’m open to having other communities on there, I just don’t know what.
Subscribed! Lez go lesbians!!
I’m about to start looking into self-hosting instances, any advice for a noob
dont forget to have fun
If you can advertise your community and get some people to subscribe it’ll get seen fine.
If just one person from .world subscribes to your community, it’ll appear in all .world users “all” feed.
Maybe it’s just me but I wouldn’t but .ml on the same level as the other two. On the other side, the other two are very open and clear about it which makes .ml subversive and maybe even worse
.ml is still in denial about its own nature.
True, all the more reason to make memes like this
Seems weird that we’re supposed to think of network topology when we’re posting.
The load balancing bit was mostly a joke, Im not calling for Lemmy posters to have a CCNA LMAO, but it doesn’t hurt to spare an extra second or 2 when you’re in the community search drop down on the posting screen
