Summary

A new book alleges that Kamala Harris was set to appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast during the 2024 campaign but was blocked when Rogan’s team suddenly scheduled Donald Trump instead.

Harris’ team carefully planned a trip to Texas to align with Rogan’s terms, only to be told he was unavailable—only for Trump to secure an interview that same day.

The book claims Elon Musk and UFC CEO Dana White influenced Rogan’s decision.

Harris’ team made a last-minute attempt for an interview, but Rogan declined.

If there were more then two viable political parties, there could still be a debate even if one party had a poopy pants dingus up for election.

I am disgusted to live in a world where Joe Fucking Rogan is king-maker, and it’s a legit political strategy to keep your opponent off his stupid podcast.

I’ve been a pretty consistent listener of Joe for a decade, since before he really gained true popularity. He’s never been perfect and he’s said and done a whole lot of dumb shit over the years, but I took him for entertainment and nothing more, so his missteps were always forgivable.

But last year’s Trump, Vance, Musk, and Gabbard interviews back-to-back on the eve of election proved to me without a shadow of a doubt that Joe Rogan is bought and sold, and I’ve not listened to him since.

I don’t hate him, but his appeal to me was that right or wrong, he was always at least genuine. Now he’s just a 3-hour advertisement.

In my opinion, what fucked him was reaching ‘escape velocity’ as he calls it. He knows he’s untouchable now so he’s stopped auto criticism.

Doctors, nurses, laboratories, science officials the world over disagree with everything you just said. Not only is it blatantly wrong, you have absolutely zero evidence to support your claim.

You should rethink posting edgy takes for attention. It’s not a good look.

For the record I’m against most of what Rogan says about most of his scientific statements, including most of his shit about COVID. He’s a meathead, but he has been saying for years that getting the vaccine doesn’t stop you getting the virus, which is correct.

If it butt hurts you and the mod censoring me because I’m open to things he says that are right instead of blanket-hating every word, you can both get into a 69 position with each other and make gargling sounds.

You hear that, trigger-happy mod? Now you have a reason to intervene. I come here once every 6 months so flex as hard as you need to, big man.

The vaccine has never claimed to ever stop you from getting the virus. It has always said to mitigate the damage to prevent death.

That makes him correct like saying a car is driving safe because it doesn’t get in to an accident. That isn’t the “truth”. It’s a statement that doesn’t illustrate the safety of the driver. They could be having close calls or running red lights and it’s 3am.

Rogan does not understand basic science and the principles of the guests he has on. He is a tin foil hat wearing funny guy, who leads anyone interested in tin foil hats and pokes the bear for entertainment. Is it funny? Hell yea. I used to love the entertainment part of Rogan. But he has overplayed his hand and now he has gone political.

He has done this because he’s bought or stupid. I don’t really care which one it is. His last standup was shit. He gets to make money stirring the pot amongst gym bros that think they are being intellectual and avoiding all the bullshit. A broken clock is still right twice a day.

What upsets me about you specifically is you are undermining the millions of people around the globe that actually have degrees in science and medicine. They have done the leg work. They did the actual research. And you see some shocking things on the Internet and think you found the golden bullet of truth rather than the actual truth.

Nature don’t give a fuck what we think. It’s out to eat us. In every single way. Rogan doesn’t know COVID better than an actual COVID researcher. There are millions throughout many countries. You sound unhinged and unresponsive of criticism. You’re wrong. Rogan was not right. He was lucky.

There’s literally video of Biden addressing the nation saying if you got the vaccine you would NOT. GET. COVID, nor get sick, or die. Would you like 20 or 30 links to that? Let me know because about 1000 news outsets reported on it.

I’m not anti-Biden or anti-vaccine, but he was wrong to say that, period, and Rogan called him out on it, which Rogan got slammed for, which he turned out to be absolutely right about.

It’s fools like you who blatantly, blindly pick a side with no nuance or care for any discussion. You’re like a MAGA mirror opposite.

That’s one person. Any smart person would know there are many people that have knowledge. Relying on one source is close minded. You should explore other habits.

Like listening to your mechanic when your car is about to break. Or the plumber when the pipe is broken. But when it comes to medicine, “I know better because the comedian on the Internet told me I wouldn’t get it.”

I think her going on his podcast would have been a fucking disaster.

She probably would have given a bunch of PR nothing sandwich answers and Joe would have lost interest.

I mean who knows, maybe it would have gone over amazing, but thinking Kamala lost because of that podcast or Trump won because of that podcast is a fucking astronomical amount of cope from the Democrats.

There is a long list of consistent missteps that come before the whole podcast fiasco for the Democrats.

    Edit: spelling

Most of the missteps were pandering to the right. The brilliant idea was to try to siphon away right wing voters from Trump, which was fucking stupid because she abandoned the Dem base to do so.

An appearance on Rogan would have done nothing to help her win, because most lefties stopped listening to Rogan years ago.

And the right is never going to abandon Trump. He lets them say and do the horrible shit that they would otherwise be ejected from society for.

Is the article supposed to make Harris’s team look good or bad? They didn’t want to appear desperate so they tried to make him fly out, were told no, tried to change the time format, were told no, went to Texas and told Rogan they could meet last minute, were given an alternate time and declined (because they didn’t want to seem desperate) left Texas, and then invited to fly Rogan out (again) and were told no.

Blaming Trump, Musk and Dana White here is like…

There was definitely some fuckery going on, since he did a three hour interview with Trump the day he claimed as a “personal day” right in the middle of her visit. They didn’t outright reject her, just made the terms too difficult to meet. Though I will say that this:

“The vice president of the United States is offering to come to your f—ing show, and you keep putting up more hoops,” the book quoted Flaherty’s thinking at the time as being.

This type of thinking is a big part of what ruined her campaign. They treated an interview like a favor to Rogan, not as a two way deal. Expecting the media (especially a notably right-leaning podcaster) to bend over backwards to accommodate them was absolutely absurd.

Sounds like Rogan was jerking them around as well:

"“We could do Friday, the 25th,” Harris’ deputy campaign manager Rob Flaherty reportedly told Rogan’s associates on October 18.

“Wish we had known about this sooner, because he has the 25th blocked out as a personal day,” a Rogan rep allegedly responded.

“What about Saturday morning?” Flaherty countered, according to the book.

A terse response allegedly followed: “Only if it’s before 8:30 a.m.”

Flaherty noticed the tone from Rogan’s camp was now “different.” The same people who had previously seemed open to a Rogan-Harris interview, as long as there were no topic restrictions, were now less eager."

That’s not how you negotiate an imterview with the sitting Vice President and candidate for President.

Can’t forget that they sent John Fetterman instead of Tim Walz or literally anyone more likeable to do Rogan.

But we can’t ask what the democrats did wrong, then they might have to do something other than move to the right every election and complain that rightwing policy and messaging is unpopular.

Didn’t Kamala’s team also want to edit the interview? Whereas Rogan does a long form, stream of conciousness type of inteview, so he told the Harris team ‘No’ to editing.

Initially they wanted the moon and Rogan said no to all of it. They wanted to do it like a news interview, seemingly not understanding how a podcast works.

His offer was come to his studio, don’t cram the room with her team, and accept her performance as it happened with no editing.

Then you have JD and Trump, who he only had to add them to his schedule.

I still wouldn’t listen to Rogan for that. “Ever do DMT? Imagine that, a president on DMT. Wait, has any president ever done DMT? Jamie, pull that up.”
