Caught my eye too and it feels eerily reminiscent of the alt-right “coomer” and “consoom” kind of vocabulary, although I stress the word “feel”

It is literally that standard and common and obviously in use in the government.
(SQL is just a computer language for dealing with data and databases)

6·23 days agoYeah i think this post is actually onto something, as far as doomcatching up. You can’t not talk about the crazy shit happening these days. Perhaps it’s a part of the foundations of the “loneliness epidemic”

In fact I have been lately on Bluesky and spending much more time there these days, since people who I respect say “it’s an open standard” and “a true bulwark to the next Musk or whoever wants to buy it”, but I regularly find myself wondering, “what am I looking for here [on Bluesky]?”
The anonymity of reddit type platforms, of which Lemmy is the most future proof, is highly preferable. Bluesky (Twitter/Xitter, etc) feels lie a bunch of ‘identities’ wanting on some level to get the karma their post deserves plus the karma their identity ‘deserves’

191·1 month agoYou know, it’s crazy. The moment I learned that fucking Hitler was once Time’s Person of the Year, I think I’d be once and for all OK with year upon year passing where I was not that year’s Person.
12·1 month agoAlso in that field, but… I think you have to acknowledge that being, usually, in your example 1) at work and 2) on a computer, make people that much less interested in giving a shit. Compare to various systems people use in their free time, and you probably see that people are pretty good at attending to the things they think matter.
Capitalism, or, at the very very least, unfettered capitalism, are the real problem, not people writ large.
What an absolute fucking champ-
Both of those things are such music to my ears (although ofc we should all know that it was Harris’s brother-in-law Uber exec lawyer who muzzled Walz and deserves that blame that Walz is selflessly taking on here).
