For some, me included, returning the printer and getting a refund might be a good option. If this goes down the “bad” path, I’m returning to klipper-based printers, even if this leads to more work and maintenance.

If you are the only one using the services, then go for a VPN instead of port forwarding or sth. This way, your stuff isn’t openly accessible from the internet to anyone poking around
