As soon as Apple announced AI for iOS I sold my iPhone 15 and got a pixel and installed GrapheneOS on it and have no Apple or Google services installed all open source. And more importantly no AI.

Glad I use GrapheneOS and don’t use any Google apps or services anymore it’s amazing how I no longer get spam calls and texts since the switch.

Just waiting for them to try this with a US Navy Ship gonna be a bad day for the Chinese 😂

I think it has more to do with Matrix is kinda becoming the standard for secure open source messaging server but I do agree with you I would just use what works for you personally.

Still won’t make them affordable I got my car for $23,000 until a ev can be bought at that price its a no go for me and no not a hybrid my car just has a 18 gallon tank on it holds allot of gas.

This is what I do I self host pretty much most of my services.

So google play services on android along with Google store are installed in the root system the can basicly do whatever the want permission wise play services is always running in the background and is a huge battery drain by not having it installed at all you are gaining more battery life.

Also the problem is no ev is affordable at all the are double the price.

I can fill my car for $47 about 2.89 a gallon where I am now and I get about 540-580 miles to that one tank. My last cheap gas car got 400-430 miles a tank so your average for ice car is off for sure.

Okay but I am 2 hours from any public charging that’s the point no charging at work or anywhere close that is the point. And there are plenty of gas cars that can go 600 miles not just diesel.

You are correct I live in a very rural area so i have that exact problem closest electric public charger is 3 hours away.

I had one it is as bad as it sounds actually worse know allot of people that got a electric car just to sell it over this.

That is very true indeed but my battery lasts for 2 days though because of it so I’ll call that a win.

It was windows 7 but my install got screwed up Some how not sure how a freind gave me a Ubuntu USB and I didn’t want you try it I wanted to reinstall windows but didn’t have another windows computer at the time or acces to one. And I installed Ubuntu 8.Something and back then making a Windows USB wasnt easy like it is now on Linux and never got it working so I just embraced Linux glad I did prepared me for my Dev ops career.
