100% Has happened many times. Often those things are later re-discovered. But who knows?
How many reporters around the world have had a car spontaneously explode, or suffered sudden-onset jumpeez near a window?
How many scientists and researchers have had significant breakthroughs or discoveries about hazards of waste or energy efficiency, only for their work to suddenly be labeled falsified and personal reputations dragged through the mud?
So what, you can just teleport back!
Easily made up for by the ability to cut transportation time from tardiness.
The Logitech G604 has been my champion

It’s immediate predecessor definitely felt more rugged, in terms of build quality, but it’s still the only mouse I can use.
At first the price will probably be listed high, but they go on sale all the time. I gotten mine and its previous model somewhere between $40-$60.

Depends on length. Fun fact: in most Spanish-speaking countries, only the first letter of the first word is capitalized for things like movie titles and posters. Learning that really made me think twice about how trigger-happy I get with capitalization.
I always felt like Flowers For Algernon was such a compelling book and the only movie i know of is one of the worst things I’ve ever seen. You would think it was a comedy based on that movie.
Damn, even after his sick new sneaker line?
Robin Williams had a degenerative neurological disorder and didn’t want to live through the decline. Common misconception as media speculation was “funny man sad” long before the family shared any details.
Steven Universe makes it look so easy
I’d have to agree that anger isn’t usually it’s own emotion, it’s a specific expression of fear or sadness. There are always exceptions I think, but usually there’s more to it.
My favorite thing is to express those things through humor. It’s not for everybody. If you’re not funny enough you can just sound like an idiot or an asshole, as I can. Other times it enables you to attack the root of the problem in a digestible way that doesn’t make a person feel attacked.
I keep thinking how great it would be if the federal government made a central server system to access digital content for free via taxes.
All public domain and publicly funded research and content, all in one place. Could also host owned content for people/entities and pay out royalties automatically based on consumption.
There are ways to make this fairly affordable to everyone via taxes, but maybe the big opportunity is it could also allow companies to train AI on all the data for a fat, but fair subscription. The value of that could easily pay for enough to shrink any tax costs for the public.
To be clear, people absolutely can and do get past real cheating in relationships.
There are a number of reasons a person might cheat, and most of them have nothing to do with the person being cheated on, or the person being cheated with.
To work forward from something like this, the offender has to to communicate several things very clearly and honestly. Why did you do it? Why did you think it was OK? At what point did you decide it wasnt OK and why? How do you feel about it now and why did it not get discussed sooner?
Ultimately, you’ve described a scenario where your partner is not able to give you the trust needed for a healthy relationship. It sounds like there’s probably not a lot left to be said about the situation between you and if that’s the case then the healthy and respectful thing would be to end the relationship.
If you can’t trust each other its game over. You can keep manually pumping that heart all you want, but eventually you’ll tire out and have to call Time Of Death.
I think accessibility options in games are fantastic and as long as they’re optional you can do no wrong.
I think the best thing, that’s still not as common yet, is the ability to custom map game controls within its settings. Steam’s own software can do this pretty well, but there should be support for that in every game up front.
Not only does it make it easier for people missing limbs or dexterity to play games, but it makes it easier for any person to tweak the controls for their play style.
I really hope we see more support for features like this because they can be so useful to everybody.
Oh boy, yeah, a lot more came out about it. There’s actually been a lot over the years, but a few years ago a pretty serious documentary came out about it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leaving_Neverland
As others have said, this could be symptomatic of something like ADHD.
I didn’t get diagnosed until 18 and it changed the game. I was very hesitant to start stimulants because of misinformation and stigma, but my doctor corrected a lot of that and it’s changed my life.
Doctor Russell Barkley has been at the forefront of ADHD research for decades and has a YouTube channel that’s packed with useful information. If what you see resonates with you, I’d talk to your doctor about it.
While it isn’t magic, there is a newfound pressure on the Democratic party to finally break some meaningful ground.
Unfortunately one of the biggest obstacles had been the radically conservative Supreme Court.
Simple arithmetic tells us that if just two Supreme Court Justices were to suddenly disappear from our reality, and re-emerge in another, the court would lean more progressive to allow debt relief, bodily autonomy, and hopefully more.
While there are many ways to suddenly remove people from our plane of existence, there’s no proven way to have them re-emerge in another. Obviously it would be illegal and deeply unethical to suggest such removal without the safe relocation to another plane.
So I guess just learn to kiss fascist ass 🤷♂️
Did Vivienne Westwood just buy their first 3D printer?
I want to combat all the people saying “um, actually things are getting better”
What they mean to say is “The largely meaningless or deliberately misleading metrics the government uses to make its own report card say things are going great!”
Everybody keeps talking about how the “economy” is so strong. That just means the stock market is doing well and owners of capital are happy.
Meanwhile, the US has the highest rate of homelessness in its recorded history. Worth noting that the way numbers are reported for things like homelessness, unemployment, and the like are very intentionally designed to under-report.
Local, state, and federal government all have a long history of changing the method of reporting/calculating those metrics during a term in office so they can say “unemployment dropped 30% under my watch!” When all they really did was not count 30% of the people previously counted.
Yes, wages are finally rising, and it has nothing to do with the government. It’s entirely the work of unions and organization of labor to raise wages, and it’s still got a long way to go.
The best thing that anyone can do is vote for better representation at every opportunity.
The best thing that not everyone can do is talk to a doctor if you have signs of depression or other mental illness. Yes, it’s possible to have those things brought on by circumstance, and no, that doesn’t mean you don’t have to do anything about it.
If you can’t afford doctor’s visits like that, look up non-profit health care organizations. You may be lucky enough to have real, free Healthcare options available through places like Good Samaritan.
And don’t forget to let yourself acknowledge the REAL progress of the world. We’re seeing rapid development and insight on treatments for cancers, dementia, new vaccines, renewable tech, and computational efficiency.
There are many broken systems to overcome, but even still there are incredible humans building the foundations for an incredible future if we keep working at it. Maybe we can help make sure Gen Alpha gets a fair shot.
Isn’t Australia facing a significant housing shortage / pricing bubble?
Yeah, this is one of the major plot holes in Zombie/Apocalypse movies.
You always have scenes of people siphoning gas from abandoned cars years later and it just wouldn’t work.
Ready to use gasoline can’t last a year, even when stored in ideal circumstances. Crude oil even has a shelf life of only so many years.
It’s one more reason everything’s going electric. Much easier and safer to sort out electrical storage long term than gasoline.
