I honestly doubt this will take off, but it’ll be interesting as a tech demo for what AR/VR can be at the highest end.
I’m going to state the obvious and say it’s simply too expensive for mass adoption. This is an enthusiast product for AR early adopters similar to the launch of the original Oculus Rift (for VR). I’ll definitely be interested in a less bulky consumer facing product as the tech matures. I find AR fascinating, but I’ll wait until the hardware is more streamlined.
The original Oculus Rift was like $500.
