    I didn’t read the article but I’m guessing it’s because it weighed more than paint and it was stupid?

        This is why I am glad they now have a minimum weight requirement. No more drivers starving themselves or skipping drinking water just for .01 seconds a lap advantage.

        Still a small benefit with lighter drivers since you can choose where you want to add the ballast within the bounds of the seat IIRC, but it’s basically negligible gains at that point.
