They never said they wouldn’t come for migrants without criminal records; they only said that they’d target them first. So if they come across other migrants in their targeted search for those with criminal records, they still consider those to be valid arrests.

edit: to address the comments: I said that they think of then as valid arrests, not that I did.

How does having immigrated here make the arrest valid if they didn’t even commit a crime? Also why do you seem to believe them when they call it a targeted search when there have been constant reports like this one of random people getting picked up, some not even immigrants?

They said targetted first, but not exclusively. I don’t like whats going on. But it is being portrayed as a surprise. No one should be surprised by this. If anything it hasn’t been as bad as predicted… yet. Overall, thier goal is actually fear. They hope that will deter others from coming in so they can declare what a good job they did securing the borders. And the idea of scared immigrants makes thier base happy. So it’s win win for them.

Sadly no. Since the dems took the easy route and used executive orders instead of actual laws passed by congress, trump can just cancel that order. And bam, he is now illegal. Worse, because he tried to go the legal route, they knew exactly where to find him.

Yes, everyone is aware that they can change laws on a whim in a fascist dictatorship to suit their agenda. That is not what people are discussing.

They were very clearly asking how it could be illegal in America as it was before it became a fascist dictatorship.

What you’re doing is telling someone something can be illegal if it’s made illegal. Which, no shit. No one here is so stupid that they don’t understand that laws make things illegal.

I guess we disagree on the term “clearly”.

“How does having immigrated here make the arrest valid if they didn’t even commit a crime? Also why do you seem to believe them when they call it a targeted search when there have been constant reports like this one of random people getting picked up, some not even immigrants?”

I don’t see anything in there that clearly implies anything about before vs now. To me they simply didn’t understand that immigration isn’t instantly permanent.

They consider just being here illegal, thus committing a crime.

I’m gonna give you the benefit of the doubt since you said they consider them to be valid arrests, not that you do. The crime is, of course, not being white.
