He just got access to medicare and medicaid data, HIPAA is not something you fuck with, the fines alone could literally bankrupt musk at his all time richest point, which I think is now, the largest HIPAA breach I could quickly find was 113 thousand people. Cost 5.5 million in fines alone, and was sent to the DOJ for possible criminal charges… How many peoples information is in Medicare and Medicaid? All of them? Oh dear, musk can’t afford what he is doing…
I love your optimism here but what makes you so confident the DOJ are going to be able to do anything? I sadly think we’re way past the point of expecting normal laws to apply to these assholes
