I am seeing a lot of local communities in the search tab which are recently created and have 0 post but 36 subscribers. Same happened with my !thefinals@lemm.ee community. Are these bots?

I thought having one person on any community of an instance is enough to federate with all the communities there…
Nope. Every individual community must have a sub to be pulled in remotely.
