I help run the place, so I’m biased.
Anyway, the instance is wetshaving focused, which is to say we use all sorts of nice shaving soaps, razors, blades, etc, and talk at length about it.
A mini event is in the works that most of the regulars are taking part in. Everyone is being mailed a small sample of the same soap, and on July 17th we’re all going to use it and give our thoughts.
It’s niche, and we know it, so we’re open to answering questions, etc.

I checked and I’m already subbed! I converged onto a stable process years ago but still casually peruse what new things folks are trying.
Phoenix copper DOC, KCG blades, fougere gothique soap and splash, Phoenix travel scuttle, Yaqi synthetic brush with rainbow handle. FG is my all time favorite scent, I keep a stash of spares in case they stop making it.
The DOC is my third razor and is the best blend of speed and safety, with the open combs better dealing with my long thick neck hair after a week of growth. I also have a Feather Artist Club that I should sell and a AS-D2 I gave my oldest when he came of age. I will need to get another safety razor for my youngest in a few years, either an AS-D2 or the latest greatest mild razor.
I think I heard that Gothique and Angelique are both discontinued now, so good thing you have some backups!
I could very well be mistaken, though. It’s a bit of a meme at this point that Barrister & Mann discontinues scents only to bring them back years later.
Just started a writing club in !writing@slrpnk.net so I’m partial to it. But it is very quiet there.
I’ve got vague designs on livening the place up, so it’s been in my thoughts a bit.
Sounded interesting so I went to subscribe. Turns out I was already.

I want to plug the communities I created, but I’m always afraid that’s going to be a divisive comment. Many of the BOINC projects these days don’t have screensavers unfortunately. But World Community Grid and Rosetta@home have decent ones.

I am absolutely unsure, and think any information I have about it comes from like 20 years ago. Is it that old? I thought it was pretty old. I remember a news report about it, like on the TV proper. The screensaver was like…little bars of color coming towards the camera, continuously going forward until it filled up and restarted. The spike bars were meant to be like…the data from outerspace. If there was a tall bar, it could be anomalous!
I have an extremely shitty memory, so this is exactly all the information I have.
Hmmm I think that it might not be Folding@Home in that case. Sounds cool, though!
