I almost wonder if it is a camera artifact and not necessarily just gritty looking. My cellphone makes stuff look worse with all the junk ‘ai enhancing’ it tries to do.

And really any steps are just to start a new post as an image post within the app, select the image I want to upload and it throws the error every time. I don’t think I’m doing anything special. Images I had initially tried to upload with the app, I just posted on imgur : https://imgur.com/a/kLJjFQ7, I can try to add an image here and see if it works here too, but this issue may be a ‘lemmy.world’ issue anyway, as in another comment in this thread, I mentioned I was getting json errors too. But maybe I’ll get lucky and it’ll show up this time lol
Apparently not, tried logging into lemmy.world with Chrome and Firefox, get json errors when trying to upload any images (as a post or in a comment/reply)

Yeah, same thing on my camera. It likes to blend similar colors together and try to make up it’s own ‘texture’ for detail. Tired of ‘ai enhanced’ garbage camera phones. They used to be good.
