EU regulations that can be triggered in response to tariffs include an option to make that completely legal
Edit because I’m getting asked for a source: EU Anti Coercion Instrument that got passed in 2021 and came into effect in December 2023: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/HTML/?uri=OJ%3AL_202302675
Specifically Annex I, paragraph 7:
ANNEX I
Union response measures pursuant to Article 8
[…]
- The imposition of restrictions on the protection of intellectual property rights or their commercial exploitation, in relation to rightholders that are nationals of the third country concerned, which may amount, as necessary, to the non-performance of applicable international obligations with respect to trade-related aspects of intellectual property rights.
This applies to copyright and patents, but not trademarks as far as I know.
Export tariffs are a thing and Canada could implement them on eggs to make sure US shortages and price hikes don’t spread to Canada. Would that push prices to 1.50 per egg? No, but it would stop Canadian egg exports from helping US pricing at the expense of Canadian pricing.

Check silica packet effectiveness below 50% humidity… It’s not great. Molecular sieve on the other hand has no problem getting humidity below 5%. I managed to buy a 10kg bucket of 3A sieve for about $120 and it’s going to be enough for many years.
I store all my filament in ziplock bags with some 3a molecular sieve - even after 2 years in 45-65% humidity at 21C room I don’t have to dry PETG.
I have bought K712 before the plague and ended up returning them. There was a little more bass than Q701, which was nice, but he amazing treble of Q701 was gone. I found the “upgrade” sounding boring and generic.
To clarify: I have other headphones: HD660S, M1060C and each of them have something to offer as far as listening experience goes, just like Q701. K712 didn’t add anything new, nor was it an acceptable Q701 replacement.
Same, but I have some hope for the 440 lbs anvil in the shed.
You can’t get Q701s anymore… and K712 which was supposed to be an upgrade sounds like shit, so I keep repairing mine and postponing switching to the backup pair I managed to snag as new old stock…
I’m not going to touch immigration, work permits etc, because it varies greatly - I’m assuming you figure it out. For skilled workers with work experience there usually is a fairly painless way to get all you need.
Continuing to work:
Moving is the simplest part:
At destination you will need:
Vast majority of the info you need will often be available on the embassy website of your destination country.
Source: over the 20 years of my career I moved across the ocean twice with my family and worked from a total of 4 countries.
Working remotely from another continent crowd checking in.
Something more like this https://a.co/d/0bgPCSvQ - it should use half the power, it’s way smaller, 2x SATA if you want 2 drives. I haven’t checked if this specific one is 12V, but there are dozens in the same form factor and with similar specs.
There are a lot of atom or mobile i3/i5 powered mini PCs that actually are powered with a 12v brick, in fact most of the industrial ones are. Small form factor, passive cooling, can play media for you and usually comes with 4x 1/2.5gbit Ethernet, so it can double as a router/switch. Usually 10-15w power draw.
Go to AliExpress and simply search for minipc and make sure it has a SATA connector for your hard drive.
Not influence, control. They were allowed to do their own thing only as long as they did nothing to annoy Moscow and followed all orders.
For me that’s achieved by being 6 timezones ahead - I finish work, turn off my computer and go to sleep.
It is an issue in Poland. Close to 30% of the population is at Sunday mass and even if priests were perfectly neutral (and they very much aren’t) simply people deciding “I’m already out, I might as well vote” does make an impact on the outcome. Every time liberals and socialists score an election win is after electorate mobilization that counters that.
BTW I agree that voting should happen on a statutory holiday, but it shouldn’t be one associated with a majority religion.
It skews the results towards christian-backed candidates - Sunday mass gets people out of their houses, clergy reminds them to vote and at least hints who they should vote for and they do on their way home.
I’d have no problem accepting a free car
Mandatory training to become a police officer:
With that little time spent training and heavy combat focus a US cop might get as little as 2-4 weeks of training on everything that a cop does that doesn’t involve guns. People get shot by US cops because they weren’t taught anything else. People don’t get help from US cops because they were never taught solving problems that don’t involve shooting a minority.
Cartman yelling
respect my authoritah!
is not far off from what a rookie US cop knows about being a police officer.
