It’s all good, yeah it’s a little different than your traditional social media as instead of going for reactions and pushing out content you actually need to communicate and talk instead of just pushing random posts more of the time to grow an actually connected audience

Post, Talk and communicate with people.
As you use the Fediverse you will slowly see regular people pop up, talk to them, especially those you’ve enjoyed talking to in the past or have something interesting to say to.
The Fediverse is about communication and sharing ideas so do that, This can be done through posting in communities or commenting on posts in communities / topics you are interested in.
Samantha Xavia@bikersgo.socialto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•People are actually paying to wear an ad?3·30 days agoThis is the main reason I hate branded clothing, With moth clothing they have branding on it and it’s just an advert to the clothing brand. I personally hate this and try and find brands that are rather hidden / hard to see but also cost effective for me as I can’t afford something super expensive especially for somethings small like clothing.
Samantha Xavia@bikersgo.socialto Community Promo@lemmy.ca•My partner is trans community?11·1 month agoThey probably would be, especially as the moment lemmy is still small. If not I’m sure there’s the opportunity to create a ‘partners of trans’ community in the future if needed.
I personally found it because of learning about places like Mastodon after looking for alternatives to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & all of those social medias.
I mostly connect to Lemmy through my instance that isn’t running lemmy but connects with it, but still sometimes find myself looking on a Lemmy Site to look through posts.
Samantha Xavia@bikersgo.socialOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why doesn't Lemmy have a back button?12·2 months agoNot everyone uses android, I used to but don’t anymore.
Samantha Xavia@bikersgo.socialOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why doesn't Lemmy have a back button?11·2 months agoBecause sometimes people don’t like apps, especially when some are paid.
Samantha Xavia@bikersgo.socialOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why doesn't Lemmy have a back button?012·2 months agoNot for Webapps / Mobile Webapps sadly.
Samantha Xavia@bikersgo.socialOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why doesn't Lemmy have a back button?2·2 months agoI have more than just autism, I have morbid anxiety. Due to both of these I can’t really imagine body language and things, sure I’ve got better with it in person but most of the time if they are telling me to go somewhere then it’s most likely as they fucking hate my or don’t understand that I won’t get they are joking.
Samantha Xavia@bikersgo.socialOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why doesn't Lemmy have a back button?31·2 months agoCool I just don’t always understand jokes due to my autism. Sorry I took it as you telling me to fuck off back to centralized social media.
Samantha Xavia@bikersgo.socialOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why doesn't Lemmy have a back button?44·2 months agoBro it’s a simple question. I hope the Fediverse can grow and asking this question as I know some may get upset / confused with no back button on screen.
Samantha Xavia@bikersgo.socialOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why doesn't Lemmy have a back button?24·2 months agoNot everyone knows shortcuts, great for those that are wanting to be more quick / know the shortcuts but for a general user experience it could be frustrating especially when you are browsing in a webapp on an iphone or something.
Samantha Xavia@bikersgo.socialOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why doesn't Lemmy have a back button?218·2 months agoNot everyone is used to pressing back and forwards on there browser and it will often be hidden if you use the page as web-app through certain devices.
How do you actually have people listen to you, there’s not really many people on reddit that I’ve found that you can tell them reddits crap and you should move to this instead.
How do we as users make sure Lemmy and the rest of the Fediverse grows?
Samantha Xavia@bikersgo.socialto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Looking for a free speech Lemmy instance111·2 months agoMost instances don’t allows spread of misinformation especially about minorities such as trans people. You’d be better off creating your own instance if you want to have 100% control over what you see.
For more information about that topic here’s an article about it: https://www.gendergp.com/new-report-confirms-trans-athletes-do-not-have-biomedical-advantage-in-elite-sport/
Samantha Xavia@bikersgo.socialto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Looking for a free speech Lemmy instance9·2 months agoWhat is wrong with the instance you are currently on if I may ask?
The word Free Speech is often used to allow for hate / bigotry towards minorities in current day. So it’ll good to know what you are actually looking for.
Samantha Xavia@bikersgo.socialto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Looking for a free speech Lemmy instance5·2 months agoI’m unsure if there is an instance like that especially as you can’t force for something is completely open to anything being said from federating with everyone. You are probably better off creating your own Lemmy server tbh.
Samantha Xavia@bikersgo.socialto Mastodon@lemmy.world•Follow a Lemmy community from Mastodon and have it boost only posts (not comments)1·2 months agoSadly I haven’t found a way to do this. There’s got to be a better way to show up lemmy feeds, as it seems to be good to see the comments under the actual post instead of as new boosts.
It’s not a bad way to get started, I’d suggest to find some communities you are interested in and begin to post content on them if they don’t get much content as it will show others that you are interested in that topic but also feed well for others looking for the content in the future.
