I’ve had this before as well; Very annoying.

I try to balance things between what I find enjoyable/ worth the effort, and what ends up becoming more of a recurring headache
Yeah, I’ve heard that’s a concern. I also heard that there hasn’t been enough failures to know when you should expect batteries to fail. I’ve heard numbers like 300k-500k miles, since the cells inside the batteries are rated for thousands and thousands of cycles. I guess one way to hedge your bets would be to buy one that has modular battery replacements, so you only pay 4k vs 20k
They’re tempting, but Tesla’s feel too sterile for my liking. Also not a fan of the center screen. I’d prefer one in front of the driver
I’ve read that quite a few EVs have batteries where you can swap individual modules, and don’t need to replace the entire battery arrangement if something fails. That seems to bring the price down significantly, especially considering you won’t be spending money on oil changes, timing belts etc
Great point! I’ll have to look into this more. What did you end up getting?
I have a somewhat dated (but decently specd) NUC running Proxmox, and it’s the backbone of my home lab. No issues to date.
Rank choice, and more party options to use it on
Thank you, I’ll definitely check it out.
Yeah, I suppose I could have a specific directory for them to download to, then I move them to the directory which they play from, which is more restricted.
I thought one of the main benefits of those projects was that they can automatically download and replace versions with higher quality ones (if you have it configured that way). In that case, would I be able to have it look at my (restricted) directory which it doesn’t have write perms for, but download to a different directory?
I really want(ed) to look into the *darr projects, but I don’t want to give them write permissions to my NAS :/
Last I checked, they didn’t support my webos version without me doing the developer mode trick, but my Nvidia shield/ Jellyfin for Android TV works like a charm
Lot of trolls lately
Get on the notification list for a RAK starter kit. I have heltec and RAK, and the NRF chip outperforms the ESP32 based ones by leaps. Barely uses any battery. Just check which frequency you need for your country. I’m in NA so we use 915 MHz
Lmaoooo, was going to say the same thing. Fantastic project that has me hooked.
It’s a case for a Meshtastic node :) super fun project
Thank you, and no worries on the late reply. I’ll check all of this soon. You are right in there being a small gap there. It is normally tight, however I did loosen it a smidge because someone in a video mentioned that might add some forgiveness if one of the screws (or leadscrews as I’m learning) is not true.
Those screws are/ were dry though. I recently put a small amount of WD-40 onto a paper towel and cleaned them up a bit (maybe not the best choice vs a machine oil or something similar).
Thanks, I’ll give it some proper TLC soon and clean/ lube everything.
