How can something that’s only value comes from exploiting biological process(addiction) have any real “value”? Ones who make this stuff dont have to pay for shit when they make this and it doesnt bring anything positive to the world. Same, being able to do things with your mind would be wonderful but if it comes with cost of potentially handing your own killswitch to ketaminecrazed billionaire… (or anyone). If the device isnt 100% opensource so anyone can see how it works, there is no way to know what it can do. And even if we assume it wont be used in overtly malicious way, being able to physically affects someone’s brain( be it reading or writing) means being able to absolutely control of someone.
How can they “force” anything if you dont sign? By not agreeing to new terms… you dont agree to the terms. Wouldnt having it any other way just be insanity? Like i could write “contract” here that by viewing it you agree to it and if you dont agree, i could still claim that some part of it applies because it reads so in the contract. Or I have some other contract that is agreeable and someone signs it, then I change the terms and other party can’t reject them all because of something in the first contract.
