Will do for sure! Going to work on it sometime in May.
Oh wow this is excellent, thank you so much for taking the time to do such a detailed write up! Much appreciated. Going to get everything together this weekend and tackle it over the next few days. Thank you!!
Oh good idea, I never considered that because of how thing the veneer/film is. Would standard wood glue do the trick you think?
I’ve never used an oil based primer, only the bullseye / shellac stuff. Not sure if it’s the same, but seems to seal well.
Nice thanks all, glad that my initial thoughts on repair seem to be on the right track. The cabinets are original and are over 35 years old at this point, so not the worst shape all things considered!
Ah that’s a good tip. I’ll take a look if it’s available locally, it’s like that bondo stuff so probably. I think the wood filler I have is also outdoor grade, and would be covered by sealer/primer. Best to start with a solid layer first though!
The venner is super thin, it’s that film stuff is n top of particle board so I don’t think the touch up marker would work. This one is the worst, the other two are super minor and I’m probably the only one that notices it.
Ngl I love the smell of a freshly opened package of PLA.
I’m not quite sure what I’m looking at, but I’m fascinated by the lines and composition. Really cool work!
Yeah, this is not new and not shrinkflation… here in Canada the 440ml has been around for over 20 years in multi-packs, and the 500ml is available as individual cans.
While I agree with the general sentiment, these are both standard sizes for Guinness and the 440ml 4 packs and 8 packs have been around for well over 20 years. Here in Canada, the 440ml are available in the multi packs while the 500ml are sold as individual cans. I’ve seen the same in the states. I think OP just saw the smaller volume can next to the slightly bigger one and jumped on the shrinkflation hate train without checking.
Not sure about chromecast, but for AirPlay you don’t need internet connection. It’s probably the same for both, but I use an AppleTV and used a Xiaomi Mibox 3 before that, and would just cast to those if I need.
Well that’s just it, mostly unnecessary if you’re using it as essentially a monitor (like both of us are doing). Most of the updates would have to do with their smartcast OS or additional features or apps. The updates could also have additional support for devices as new hardware comes out, bug fixes (or additional bugs), speed improvements, etc.
They could definitely implement hardware that automatically connects to wifi without your permission. I guess a solution to that would be to connect to your own internet at home, maybe on a separate subnet that is blocked from accessing the internet.
I have a Vizio as well. It’s been disconnected from the internet for at least 2 years now and functions fine. I guess I miss out on updates, and if I press the Vizio “home” button it freezes up as it’s trying to connect for 20-30 secs before I can do anything, but works fine with an external Android or Apple box. You obviously won’t be able to use any of their apps if you disconnect from the internet, but it’s 100% worth it.
Don’t forget our bee friends drink water!
I’ve put a couple of small bowls in and around my flower beds, with small flat stones for them to sit on while they drink.
Adium… now that’s a name I have not heard for a while. Used to have a super nice customized version to chat with friends on various platforms. It was amazing. Thanks for the nostalgia trip!
I found the three newish Tomb Raider games to be a great mix of a sort of open world feel at times where you have things to explore, while being very much on rails. Each arc in the story gives you an area to explore and your actions in that area progress the story. You get some weapon and ability upgrades throughout. I came in not expecting much and couldn’t put the first one down. I think I finished Tomb Raider 2013 to 100% in about 20-25 hours and it was excellent. Will probably do another playthrough at some point, still haven’t played the third.
Holy, that’s so pretty! Would love to have some in my garden.
Cool idea!
I was going to mention a few games to check out but they were all already mentioned, so I will suggest the one that wasn’t brought up, Star Crusader. Space combat game with a great story, fun game play, high replay value, and great voice acting for a game from 1994. And the ending blew my mind, still remember the moment and my shock to this day. I have my original CD and the jacket in a memorabilia box haha, one of only a handful of things I kept from those days.
