I’m kinda not mad that he’s crazy AND vocal. What I’m more worried about is when maybe when he older and wiser he shuts up and just starts funneling all that money towards his nutto crazy talk. At least now you can hear him coming.

I’ve use the phantom spirit 120se on two builds now. They are CRAZY for the price. Also, I did the same thing with the first one.
So the way I read it, if you want to opt in, you make the new changes they state in your yml. I didn’t and just hit upgrade to pull the new images and it worked fine. I don’t see any issues, but I’ll be glad if someone says I did it wrong.
I think it’s only breaking if you pull the new yml and don’t move your data.
Not a recommendation per se, but if you like to ugly cry watch “Dear Evan Hanson”
I use Vivaldi with their search widget. It’s been a game changer for me because I can use my self hosted searxng instance as my default search engine with auto complete from duck duck go. Can also use other search shortcuts to switch to other engines quickly.
We gonna have to worry about 7zip?
I just built a 13700k system for a lab box. My plan all along was undervolt (stable .130 undervolt) and limit max PL2 to 175w. I probably get 85% or better of listed performance and it runs a cool 60° even under max load, which I will frequently run for 24h at a time. For me, cool and stable was always the goal, sounds like this is just bearing out my decision.
Note, I would have gone AMD, but I needed quicksync for Plex.
I’m mean, they are both methods to do the same thing (get smaller sized videos) and it doesn’t have to be one of the other, both can be used. With better compression you can stream higher resolution.
I’m convinced that part of the reason of this over processing is because of streaming. You can compress a movie or show far FAR more when colors are smooth and uniform (I know this from compressing multiple hundreds of movies and TV shows). So now that everyone is “streaming all the things” they have to look for ways to get 4k out the door and to the normal consumer who might only have 100mb internet.
Edit: not defending it, just sharing my observations as a media enthusiast.
Not sure who’s down voting you, but socks are meant to be in shoes and shoes are meant to be in contact with the ground. Shoes have rubber soles, socks are cloth. One of these things is much more durable than the other.
I have 90% hardwood floors and my socks get destroyed if I don’t wear slippers of some sort.
Making my point for me. Those short form videos have very little chance of being right or accurate. They may have you going to some sketchy link and download and app that is supposed to do it for you etc etc.
My point is the people at risk don’t know they are participating in a risky activity. (not if they successfully rooted their phone or not).
Yes, all that pollen.
Pihole has entered the chat.
Watch out son, don’t you know your in Linux land (Lemmy)? You’re likely to get shot for them thar words. /s
My nose and throat can feel this picture.
You’ve won! Thank you for changing my mind.
Just use the classic control panel if that’s the case. It’s still there. You’d probably still recognize parts of it from Windows 3.1.1.
Hey, no skin off my back and you don’t know me from Adam. Could be lying for all you know.
Some of these changes may not stick, but UI / UX is always evolving to the next thing. You have to try things to know if they are successful. I’ll use the new Apple Vision Pro as a example. Apple is taking a gamble here and this is a HUGE change in UI interactions, can you imagine if they never evolved past the old iPod scroll wheel? (maybe a bad example becuaee that was a great tactile user experience). But my point is people have evolved how they use technology, it’s “generally” more reliable and the under the hood stuff can be tucked away for the general user.
Sounds perfect for my needs.
