I always thought of change from the inside as gaining their trust, pretending to be one of them. With that trust, gain power. With that power snag the highest office. In that office, drop the curtain and make good on the investment.

Everything has deceptive language and other types of manipulation. I used to merchandise and learned a lot. Most ads make me angry because of this. Politics is similar but that just makes me sad.

Of course I’m afraid. Probably more realistically than everyone responding as if I wasn’t. I don’t see a way to stop America from sinking further into a dark age.

It blows my mind how anti-intellecualism is so strong when we have so much information at our finger tips. The greedy takeover of Reddit is painful. Like a lobotomy. Finding sources and more perspectives was never easier than what had been built on that site. This last year has made it indistinguishable from other forms of media.

We are perpetually getting dumber and more afraid. And before I am questioned again, “we” includes me.

Again. That was my point! Fear is controlling us.

In current politics: Fears=Votes.

That is the American way. If that is not clear, I can elaborate. But I’m pretty sure you can see it in every comment telling you why to vote a certain way.

That was my point.

Those are the same reasons people use to vote for Trump. I’m around it all the time. People on both sides are voting out of fear of the other side. Reason and reality are no longer relevant in politics. Only fear.

I very much miss the breadth of communities and depth of knowledge that came with Reddit. I am reminded on days like this how disconnected I have become since they burned the books.

The only reason I went to McDonald’s before covid was because breakfast was available all day.

Almost every reason given sounds like a description of my home of Florida.

It’s so they don’t look racist when they are afraid of being robbed and tell a black person to take off a mask.

This is not entirely true. There are states that outlaw other parties on their ballots. Do not underestimate the powers that thwart any semblance of democracy.

Yup. That’s me. I hate all my options but I show up every time.

It feels like a good comparison to the amount of power we have in our government.

I’m not sure how to look up ratings of bands. There are some I love but did not seem to be well known enough for comparing ratings.

I’m going to mention Filthy Children as an example.

The first Harry Potter was okay, but it just got worse. I’d say the worst was Goblet of Fire. That one should top my list of worst overrated movies.
