I want a 20000mah power bank with wireless charging capabilities. Is it that hard to make?
Sony’s is more In-Depth, .
In what manner?
I know Sony had originally contributed the battery saver to AOSP since that was not standard back then.
I still have phones whose USB ports were not toast or did not get hot while charging. But, they do drop down in not being able to hold a charge. I guess it depends on usage and the OEM in question.
I just tested and Voyager saved the image in the pictures directory of android. Voyager does not ask or need any permission. I’m on android 14. So, it may be different for you if you are on an older android version.
The android theme needs some work. Especially, in regards to animations. They are abrupt compared to the Apple version.
Also, I noticed when using the quote feature. It is the same color as the theme background making it impossible to see. The apple version renders it as grey making it slightly more visible.
this is a quote
which was not obvious because the quote was rendered in a similar dark color as the theme background.
Google has shared more details on how AOSP will change after it makes Android OS development fully private
TL;DR
I heard they removed the previous builds to avoid this very scenario.
The Pixel 4a was a midrange not a budget phone in any manner. Anyway, modern day phones are enough powerful to last years. Especially, midrange phones and higher. The flagship may get you flagship cameras, processor. But, everything else is not 2x or 3x better for the increased price.
If you have the disposable income sure. For most people 90% of the experience is the same and sufficient for their daily needs. Not needing an expensive $1000+ liability who’s repair cost on failure outside warranty be expensive.
That aside, modern phones seem to get fewer and fewer useful features with each release so I don’t really see the appeal of ‘upgrading’ until I literally have no choice.
Yeah, with years of software updates. There’s literally no need. Unless, you break the phone and cannot get it repaired.
Who in their right mind enables notifications for new videos? There can be countless subscriptions. Better to simply check the ones in the app.
Sounds like a justification to buy expensive Smartphone.
There’s always the X7 pro if price is a factor.
That thing was smooth even on some of my low end phones.
I was thinking more about the additional development time and how far behind open source devs would be vs OEMs. Having all development be closed leaves a sour taste either way.
Wonder how it will affect custom Rom developement like GrapheneOS.
This was me in the old days. Fortunately, unlimited 5G and wifi at work and home negates this issue. And for times when you don’t get one. That 1-2GB is sufficient.
This change is in AOSP. So, should be accessible in future updates to other phones.
The app uses shizuku. Which can be configured with wireless ADB. Root is not required. It works fine in that combo for me. Tested on two of my phones.
Nice info but complicated. Useful only if someone wants to know technical details or making an app.
Best to install Shizuku (play store) and ColorBlender (fdroid). Which provide a nice UI(but less precision) to change themes.
That’s a smartphone. I mentioned powerbank.
