I guess the problem is that it treats all lemmy content as boosts. Because I’m able to exclude boosts and/or replies from my home feed in general, or boosts of specific accounts only. And Mastodon profiles have tabs for posts only and posts with replies, so I can differentiate.

There’s r/foreveralone. I don’t know how the community evolved, but like 7 or so years ago it was basically what you described. People seeking comfort over feeling undateable and being scared of never finding anyone, but without the toxicity and hate that incels are known for.
