It’s was the lack of backwards compatibility that killed it for me. I’d had niggling considerations of PSVR1 for some time, then PSVR2 was announced and I was all ready to hand over my money. Until it became clear there was no backward compatibility. So I own neither.
I’m cautiously optimistic for them as I’d love to see it succeed but I can see where the uncertainty comes in. But they’ve not said over what time period, so it may be over a period of a few year which makes it a more manageable, but still a stretch of a target.
Having said that, personally, I’m waiting on the release of this and DD2 before I decide which to get first.
Not exactly. PlayStation version uses the same payment methods as the PC version. So though you can’t pay through PS Store you don’t have all this extra layer of Coin crap to deal with that Xbox has apparently enforced on them.
Annoyingly Game Informer have split this interview up into multiple articles, the other being about how the FFXVI DLC team are open to doing more than current 2 they have committed to, but that its likely to not happen: https://www.gameinformer.com/news/2024/03/08/final-fantasy-xvi-the-possibility-of-more-dlc-is-not-zero-but-you-really-shouldnt
Knew you were a dev of some sorts as soon as I read this! Either that or QA haha.
Lets face it, its paid for by Square-Enix as part of Rebirth marketing, but its still great and it gave me a good laugh and smile this morning.
Exciting times, best of luck with the update!
I certainly will. I’m looking forward future updates.
Appalling, who does he think he is?
This is an incredible update for me, the introduction of mod actions means less reason for me to jump from the app to instance websites.
Thank you.
Not being American, thus no pizza rolls is stopping me. I do want some though.
Sounds like you were living the dream.
While I appreciate the effort here, we had introduced an embargo on new threads for Rebirth, so we will be removing this. This was outlined here in a post here: https://lemmy.world/post/11642072 - see first paragraph.
This is the comparison I end up making. Is it more up front? Yes, but will I get more hours out of it? Yes. Can I pick it up again without any additional cost? Yes. Can I be a goblin and not leave the comfort of my own house? Yes.
Rin-wa
ex-friend, right?
I played it on PS1, not sure the frame rate was any better! Seriously though, to me these are the moments when you tell a story is great to someone, when they’re willing to put up with that.
That’s awesome, sounds like you’ve made some good progress on that. Do you think you’ll go back and try the main game again without the accessories?
I’d love to hear the thoughts of those who disagree with the article. Let’s build some conversation around it.
Oh hey, this is my Mastodon account, lol.
This definitely keeps me interested, but I’m still waiting for it to be released and to hear more about the gameplay before buying.
