  • Geolocation is an accurate way to predict the user’s language.

This makes me so angry. It really really really really really does.

Despite setting everything to English I still get my receipts in French. And all because my IP is CG-NAT to the capital which is marked as french speaking.

What is so hard about letting me decide. The absolute fucking arrogance thinking you as a company know better than me in which language I would like to be served.

    Eat a dick Microsoft.

It’s kind of like Instagram, but it picks a random moment during the day for you to take a picture. ( When you’re awake normally ).

When the app goes off you have 1 minute to take a picture. If you miss it you can’t post a picture anymore.

It’s a bit of a reaction against the perfect pictures you see everywhere and people having amazing lives all the time. You’ll see pictures in your feed from friends/family just chilling in front of tv. Sometimes it’ll be nice timing ( oh wow! Just when we’re at <beautiful place> and other times it’ll be when you’re having a movie night with your SO.

I say friends/family because AFAIK you need to be friends with somebody to able to see their posts.

  • Im confused by your answer.

The paragraph you quoted was basically formatted as:

If it works the same as on android, <the way it functions on android>.

So you’re not meant to be familiar with how it works on android because the second part of the sentence explains what you need to know.

Every new picture you take on iPhone will be synced to proton drive. It does not have the concept of albums. It’s just one big photo reel.

  • There’s also the option of setting up a cloudflare tunnel and only exposing immich over that tunnel. The HTTPS certificate is handled by cloudflare and you’d need to use the cloudflare DNS name servers as your domains name servers.

Note that the means cloudflare will proxy to you and essentially become a man-in-the-middle. You – HTTPS --> cloudflare --http–> homelab-immich. The connection between you and cloudflare could be encrypted as well, but cloudflare remains the man-in-the-middle and can see all data that passes by.

  • Lets get one thing straight.

This is rarely ever the developer and more a business stakeholder forcing you to push the Friday deploy button.

I’ve had somebody in the business escalating to my team lead, head of development and CIO because i flat out refused to deploy something on Friday at 16h.

So no. This is not the developer making a hard choice. There should be somebody coercing or forcing him to push the deploy button.
