It would work fine in a vacuum, e.g. on the moon. Unfortunately, on earth we have a thick atmosphere to deal with. Orbits are about going sideways VERY fast. If you try and plough through the atmosphere at 7km/second it creates a LOT of heat, and uses a LOT of energy. You also can’t just lob a satellite up. It will need to circularise its orbit, so you need to log an engine and fuel too.
Basically, it’s viable as a technological idea, but not on earth.

Fruit flies, as used in labs are not like their wild cousins. They have been bred to be exceptionally consistent, since this makes X-Y experiments easier. If you take genetically identical eggs, and raise them in effectively identical conditions, you get almost the same wiring.
There will still be areas of variability, but a lot will be conserved. This is likely an “average” wiring. Once you have even an approximate baseline, you can vary things and see how the wiring adapted.

They’ve now, at least, released a standard set of markings. Basically, the data speed in Gb and the power capacity in Watts will be printed on the connector. Whether chinese suppliers will bother complying is another matter.
The key to steam is that they realised that being user centric, while bad for short term profits is very good for long term profits. They are also not publicly traded, so not just anyone can buy in and try and make a quick buck burning them to the ground.
I’ve found their store and setup to be a reasonable balance of advertising to functionality. The fact that you can adjust it yourself is a good example of their mindset. Most people don’t care or find them useful. Those who don’t like them are unlikely to interact with them, so it’s not worth fighting their efforts to turn them off.
The connectome is a map of individual neurones. The projectome is a map of how larger regions interconnect. Particularly the relative strength of the links.
It’s the difference between a detailed road map vs the relative road capacity between countries. It cuts out a lot of fine detail to see larger patterns. Both are useful, but in different ways.
In our defence, most of that is legacy from the post war rebuild (copper shortages etc). The modern regs are comparable or better than a lot of places.
There’s enough of the dodgy stuff around that it needs to be accounted for, but it’s being phased out as new stuff it built or renovated.

Try and tweak 1 thing at a time. You’ll also need to roll with the narrative. It’s like improv, saying no is dangerous, it can leave the other party with nowhere to go. Always agree with their premise, bit add your own spin to it.
As for techniques, I’ve found dream checks to be most effective. You need to do it regularly, while away. This will make you also do it in a dream. Mine is to check my back pocket for “hammerspace” type capabilities. I will never have an AK47, or a giant mallet in my back pocket. When I pull one out, I know I’m dreaming. It also makes nightmares a non issue.
I had good luck with these at my wedding. Instead of disposable cameras, I put cheap digital cameras. It didn’t take long for guests to realise that the pictures were appearing on a large tv, in a sideshow. People got a lot more creative when they realised they would be seen quickly, not weeks later.
I managed to get them working without proprietary software, too. The onboard script logged into WiFi and uploaded the photos over ftp.
Given their size and the level of tech at the time, it was pretty impressive.
HDDs can be made tolerant to it. Constant rotation still puts significant extra strain on the bearings, when spinning however. The drive will likely fail faster than an SSD.

Your best bet might be to use a laptop as the basis. They are already designed with power efficiency in mind, and you won’t need an external screen and keyboard for local problem solving.
I would also consider having a raspberry pi 3 or similar as a companion. Services that must be up all the time run on the pi (e.g. network admin). The main computer only gets kicked out of sleep mode when required. The pi 3 needs less power than the newer pis, while still having enough computing power to not lag unless pushed hard.
I definitely agree with SSDs. HDDs don’t do well when rotated when running. Boats are less than a stable platform.
You can dig through rock. The various classes also have different special skills e.g. platform guns. There’s also, often an easier way around. Unfortunately, Molly doesn’t care for the easiest route, she takes the shortest.

This sounds very nobal and humbling. However, its meaning totally changes with a few facts. It was written in an open letter to Robert Hooke. Hooke was apparently quite short, and EXTREMELY sensitive about this. Newton was basically dissing Hooke. Nobody will be standing on your shoulders, shortie!
Interestingly, electron flow is only a few mm/minute, on average. The field propagation travels at around 2/3 the speed of light (200,000,000m/s).

It’s fascinating the stages children through in drawing. It says a lot about how the young mind develops. The “head with arms and legs” stage seems universal, and amusing.
The fact they passed on legit information on d day, is still mind blowing. They relied on delays on the German side to make the information out of date by the time it would arrive. The German radio operator not being on station to receive it just made it funnier.
The atmosphere stops a lot of the high energy stuff. It gets absorbed, and turned into a shower of lower energy particles.
I remember reading once about an astronaut seeing blue flashes in their eyes. When they realised, they got behind the water tank sharpish. It was high energy particles passing through their eyeballs.
