No other candidate in recent US history that I can recall has been offering million dollar lotteries for voting. He’s barely skirting the law, since he isn’t paying people to actually vote. However, the tactic and intent is blatantly transparent.

Fucking hell, it’s so depressing living during the collapse of an empire.
Alexis Ohanian, who co-founded Reddit, is not Steve Huffman (Spez/current Reddit CEO). He’s done some solid activism and charity work, unlike the piece of shit Spez. The fact it seems he’s trying to distance himself from Reddit by trying to revive their former rival is some rich irony.
For sure, but the primary reason governments around the world keep their classified data off commercial networks is to mitigate risk vectors. The US is just being led by a bunch of fucking morons, so they don’t consider things like that. The encryption within Signal is perfectly sound, but top secret data has no business being on their servers or on unclassified, commercial phones.
Phishing and also your commercial phone is definitely vulnerable. Look what groups like Salt Typhoon and their cohorts have been doing for years.
Yep, OPSEC is definitely a major issue here. But the other problem is like you mention, zero accountability. Additionally, if they delete the chat, there is no way to reobtain the data for historical archive purposes, which is another law violation.
I’ve literally never watched or looked into the Cats musical, so I figured maybe the origin story and the plot was a gross oversimplification. I was wrong:
Cats is a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber based on Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot. The plot revolves around a group of cats called the Jellicles, who gather for the annual Jellicle Ball, where their leader, Old Deuteronomy, chooses one cat to ascend to the Heaviside Layer and be reborn.
Throughout the night, various cats introduce themselves and share their stories, including Grizabella, a once-glamorous cat who is now shunned by the others. Despite being rejected, Grizabella sings “Memory,” expressing her longing for acceptance and a new life. In the end, Old Deuteronomy chooses Grizabella to ascend, granting her a second chance.
There are other search engines than google. I never even mentioned Google specifically in my responses, that was the top comment. I used the generic term. VPNs and anonymizing extensions also exist. “Appropriate forums” can and are infiltrated/monitored by fascist government agents all the time, so don’t pretend like it’s that much safer unless you’re also taking safety precautions.
Edit: I will add that your best bet is finding a local group initially and going analog from there. But again, those aren’t immune to fascist spies, so I’d recommend learning how civil rights groups of the past/present reduce(d) their risk against infiltration/spying.
It’s gotten worse, I won’t argue that. But basic stuff is still quite easy/straightforward to look up, and using search modifier tools is still incredibly useful in narrowing down results.
Man, it’s crazy how bad it’s gotten with people not knowing how to use search engines, let alone how to effectively use them. If it’s not on their social media platform of choice, it’s simply unattainable information.
I thought that Teslas have always had QA problems? It’s definitely much, much worse in the last couple of years, the their cars were never highly regarded for being super reliable. Hell, I remember multiple stories of people’s Teslas dying because they drove in the rain even ~5 years ago.
Yes, because Tesla is such a snowflake mom and pop’s operation. Such tragedy a soulless corporation that treats its employees like trash is losing value to its very wealthy major investors.
I feel like that quote is easily wrong. Hell, I’ve done things I know are wrong (on small, minor things, like leaving work 15 minutes early and not taking leave or calling in sick when I’m not, because fuck it).
Then again, I guess I don’t think it’s entirely wrong, either. Because yeah, there are lots of people who truly believe their unethical/immoral actions are in the right. But I also think those people are often victims of indoctrination and/or they are sociopaths.
This is fucking outrageous, what the fuck…
I could see that as preemptive propaganda. If the Dems were the cause of the shutdown, the GOP could blame it on them. The GOP were very vocal this time around about “falling in line” to get it passed, assuming that the Dems were going to filibuster it.
But yeah like others have said in the thread, Schumer went about this all wrong, even if he had valid reasoning/concerns.
Context matters. Alito has done a shit ton more with the GOP than just their wife donating to them.
I mean they fucking tortured a white European green card holder recently.
What is this news? I haven’t heard of that yet.
I think social media plays a far bigger influential role nowadays in terms of raw numbers. A lot of younger conservative boomers and Gen Xers really consume the shit out of platforms like Facebook. If you regulated Facebook as an actual Media Outlet, they’d suddenly be liable for outright libel and other grossly false ads they permit and promote.
Oh 100%. He’s 13 years old and still acts like a big, dumb puppy. Yellow labs/labs in general tend to be like that, though. Just happy with life, haha.
Private schools don’t have to follow the same requirements as public schools already. The person above you is just inferring that since they’re already separate in the current system, the new ASVAB requirement would also be separate. But until it becomes an actual law, it isn’t super useful arguing hypotheticals in this context.
