I am by far not an expert on this matter, but my understanding is that if people started becoming vocal about that, it’s because most people did not really care or know about the situation until Oct 7, and were bathed in a swarm of news articles since then. It’s hard not to have an opinion on something you know nothing about when you hear about it daily.
I think that’s the right thing to do, but they still gave in in the first place… Let’s hope they keep it that way.
Depends on whether you define a crime as a “legal” bad action or a “moral” bad action. While the latter may be problematic, because anyone can have different values, it is still widely considered a bad thing to kill people who did not do anything.
I am seriously considering moving to a Linux distro once Windows 10 support is over. I already use WSL extensively and am tinkering with Debian servers, so I am starting to know my way around.
However, the biggest fear I have is regarding games and drivers: will I be able to play games still, even in VR? will I encounter that horrific problem of “Sorry, your GPU doesn’t yet have a driver for this Linux distrib’”? How should I research this topic?
The only downside I see with LePotato is that it has no SteamLink client (for now). Otherwise, there are plenty of OSes made for it. I have one SD card for CoreELEC to watch things on the TV, and one with Batocera for game emulators.

Going back to monke is always a valid option
You’re not wrong, it’s still a staple today, but it lost a lot of its shine a while ago. They are mimicking “new” features introduced in other languages, but make a point to preserve retrocompatibility.
I can’t imagine how convoluted the JVM has become in the last 10 years.
I think Usenet would be closer to the Fediverse than the email
Technically, it is confirmed, but it’s all in the background: once, one proposes to the other (and the other reciprocates), and another time we see a newspaper article about their marriage.
This aside, f*ck this dumb law.

I filled my Tech Hype Bingo card, what do I get?
Great read, thanks!
To be fair, this fits pretty much any device produced today, which is better than realising you are missing disk 3 to install it
What’s with the ad spam influx these days?
I think we should focus more on their will to kill people than on the future scarcity of disks…
