i don’t hate webp. i think png is better, but i think webp is fine
but i really don’t want google to have more control over how i browse the internet.[1] let’s maybe use an image format that isn’t owned by them, perhaps
especially given how they’ve recently shown that they will abuse their monopoly ↩︎
1·2 years agomaybe it’s a dumb question, but is there a way to create an avatar or banner for a community without uploading it to lemm.ee? or delete old images that i’ve uploaded but have been superceded? i don’t want to clutter the servers unnecessarily, but i can’t see any way around that?

not my own comments, but i noticed more and more comments being downvoted for daring to say something controversial. i remember back before we had to have the “this is not a disagree button” hover text on reddit, now we don’t even have that
