This combined with Texas keeping track of requests for gender change, are examples of the DMV used to target transgender people. Since it is a requirement to work with the DMV to legally drive, and directly impacts peoples mobility and ability to live and work, this is a direct threat on people’s lives.

We are moving directly towards a society using government resources to systemically target transgender people.

If this was instead a politician targeting everyone with a gun license, the death threats would come pouring in.

But transgender people don’t have the privilege to threaten, because the rightwing are looking for any reason to destroy.
