Great setup! Can you please tell me more about those pots/boxes where the potatoes are growing in? How are they built?

So sorry your mom behaved like that. Mine would say “Oh you got birthday money from grandpa? Here, I’ll save it for you” and of course when I wanted it back, she would get bent out of shape yelling that she had given me life and she wasn’t expecting anything in return So why should I. Awful all around.
I never thought about this topic like this. FWIW I’ve done both. Always got financial help (Dad payed for my car, stuff that was not covered by scholarships, vacation, extra curricular classes or interests, etc.) and then when he lost his job I helped financially for a bit while he got up on his feet again. I miss him everyday ❤️
Last week my kid’s mare got spooked by a plastic bag while said kid was riding her. They never flinched and everything was under control in a few seconds but you bet I was unable to breath while watching from afar.
Oh I’ve been there too! Read about it while planning my pregnancy. It made me feel so paranoic that I got the test done twice just in case. I never got sick with it, but paranoia was a removed.
Since then I have gotten mental health help to deal with anxiety etc.
Elfen Lied
I wish the person who laid down the stone paths you just described could read what you so beautifully wrote about their special place.
She was selected and placed there as a mere puppet of current president amlo. México is indeed a narco governement but people who don’t actuallly experience it first hand living it every day think that this facade is true. She was married to a guy who was investigated for embezzlent but got off the hook because of political contacts. Her father was a chemist who owned a solvent factory (he has passed away and she inherited the business) with very sketchy practices regarding toxic waste management. Factory is still hers and it still operating under the same principles.
I have the feeling you were born and raised in the US and have never experienced life outside your own town/ city and just spew your opinion about places and situations you know absolutely nothing about. So let me enlighten your narrow anglo vision a bit:
Have you ever lived through something like what is described in the article? Have you ever experienced what a narcoestado entails? Have you ever been in a protest along searching mothers outside Palacio Nacional because ten thousand people disappeared in your country due to organized crime for this fool to keep having breakfast saying “they only want to destabilize my regime” and not even acknowledge your presence? Have you ever been blackmailed and had to pay organized crime to keep your business open for this president to say “abrazos, no balazos” ( hugs, not bullets)? Has anyone from your family been kidnapped for ransom money? If so, did you get help from governement agencies? With all of the above, how would you feel about your president saying the things in the article? I have experienced all of the above scenarios so kindly, stfu.
Thanks for sharing your recipe, they sound delicious and just perfect for an upcoming camping trip.
He is a demagogue through and through, all his term has been a joke and he has been fluffed up by his minions telling him what a wonderful man he is. Barf!
After I quit smoking, I wanted to do something with my hands so I bit my nails until it hurt.
Crochet was/ is something I can do with my hands and at the end I get a cool hat or a nice scarf. Yarn gets expensive, tho.
Whoa! Lots of assumptions there, pal. Projection much?
I never said it was cheating or a shortcut, that was all you. I never said people like you should die. You do you and good if it has worked so far, but that does not mean that it is going to work for every single person who gets this suggested by their doctor.
That does not mean that every person getting this surgery comes out of it scot free forever, look at the data. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Calling me judgemental is not te flex you think it is.
Carry on.

Yes, but also that weightloss from bariatric surgery comes with many unhealthy side effects:
Dumping; calcium, Iron, folate, vitamin A, B1,B12,D malabsortion; malnutrition, ulcers, refractory late dumping; increased risk of postoperative abuse of alcohol; depression; anxiety; increased mortality from suicide (so much for decreased mortality for not being fat anymore); more risk of colorectal cancer; Barret’s oesophagus (premalignant condition for oesophageal adenocarcinoma), etc.
So how come this is healthier for someone? Is it a case or choosing a poison? How come anesthesia is a risk for life saving surgeries for fat people but that risk evaporates when it comes to bariatric procedures? So which is it? “We want you thinner” or “We want you healhy”?
Spot on comment. “But, but, but obesity” Yeah correlation is not causation, when will people get off of the better than thou train.
Being healthy is more than just how much people weight and it baffles me that so many comments here are tone deaf about how it is not as easy as CICO and criticize people who live in larger bodies.
My favorite is paper. I love the smell of old books, but also, I download a ton too because it is easier to carry them around this way.
I like buying and owning some stuff, sure, but not being able to do so doesn’t not make me go/feel insane.
Sometimes guilt creeps in but then I remember I am allowed to own and enjoy things that have no other purpose than to be enjoyed. I don’t come from money, lived a very frugal life with my parents and while I went to private school all the way through college it was through scholarships and what not.
So maybe I am justifying myself, which is fine too, but now that I can have a bit of extra change and not be a starving student I know there are some stuff that I am willing to buy for whatever reason. This will not make me poorer or richer.
Have wet wipes on hand.
Hmmm I’d say that the worst felt/feels at times, like an electric shock that keeps going until it disipates and I can stop and sob for a bit so I can sort of function after it.
The best felt like a burst of heat and warmth that first time and now the memory of it feels like basking in the sun while humming something nice.
So I think they are both impactful in different ways. One completely incapacitates me because of how awful it was but the other gives me strength to keep on loving my life and keep finding the beauty in everyday things.
