I think this was also the plot of the first Elite Force game. Been a while tho and I’m not sure if it’s canon.

They got funged
Well it was nice for a while there.
Unlikely. Not going to say he’s lying about his personal experience, but the symptoms aren’t likely to be related.
If it was true, wouldn’t countries where soy forms a large part of the diet (Japan, China) be experiencing this all the time? Pretty sure the Chinese CDC recommends eating tofu every day.
People see phytoestrogen and latch on to the estrogen bit, forgetting that the phyto- means plant. It’s mostly incompatible with human hormone receptors.
Yeah I believe you, the app wasn’t working for me, either. I was using my card all afternoon with no problems though. Not locked out of anything.
Typical 7 news sensationalism, it was a tech issue on the frontend affecting app and web services. Transactions worked fine, no one was ‘locked out’ of their account.
Last line of the article:
Other services including ATMs, online and in-person payments, including tap and pay, were unaffected…
Pain in the ass, sure. But not as bad as all that.
works with just three distinct weight values: -1, 0, or 1.
That’s a trit.
Started and finished Shady Part of Me (on special for like $3.50AU). Gameplay-wise it’s really good; difficulty curve is one of the smoothest I’ve experienced. No real roadblock puzzles where I had to resort to a guide, but enough that had me stumped long enough that the eventual “A-HA!” moment was really satisfying. Very well tutorialised, puzzle elements are introduced cleverly and get recombined with other, previous elements to make some fairly complex puzzles. Plot-wise, IDK. It feels like it’s intentionally vague to give an impression of depth that players can project their own ideas onto. Whether that’s a good or a bad thing, I’m not sure. Only took me about five hours to complete with about 75% of the collectibles, but there’s no way I’m going back to 100% it. Probably wouldn’t pay full price for it, but recommended while on sale.
Be cool if they could integrate with gadgetbridge
If you’re itching for Freelancer, there are modern options! There’s a couple of different community patches / mods that attempt to bring it up to date, see: HD edition and Crossfire. There’s also Underspace and Hell Galaxy which have free demos available. Similar gameplay and mechanics but much darker take.
Vultures are always a pain in the ass tbh. Zippy little bastards.
You might have better luck searching on the mobileread forums. Plenty of kindle hacks there.
Total nothingburger. BioBank is a research dataset used for cohort studies. There’s about 500k volunteers who contributed some genetic material, demographic and lifestyle information, anthropometrics and physiological measurements. It’s mostly used to discern possible genetic and lifestyle factors for chronic disease. It’s not like they’re getting access to the whole NHS database and stealing DNA to build supersoldiers.
Look into syncthing. Not sure about encryption tho and I’m not in a position to check RN.
Soulseek deserves a mention for music
Partner bought me a pet feeder with built in webcam. Worked great for three years until the servers went down. First and last time I trusted any internet connected appliance .
Yeah, there’s a few. Habitica comes to mind, but the generic term for this is “gamification”.
My first thougt is Rutger Hauer. Rarely in anything spectacular, but always delivers. Just a good solid back catalogue of surprisingly decent performances in otherwise B-movies.
I mean there is peertube for video content. I know my instance runs aNONradio which is pretty eclectic music and talk radio, but there are probably other similar streams. There’s quite a few services for CC licensed music. Personally I listen to a lot of actual play RPG podcasts, which are probably right on the border of hobbyist / side hustle stuff. More indie and low budget than say, critical role or the like, but still partially monetised, even if only to cover costs.
I’m not sure he’s anything. I feel like he’s operating on a combination of base instinct, desperation, self interest, and whatever unholy drug cocktail they’re using to keep his neurons firing.
