In the early days of this generation of VR, there used to be a Dolphin emulator VR-enabled version that could run the Metroid Prime games in VR. It was both great and pretty barf-y, and was discontinued afer some scene drama.

Not sure where VR for emulators is at right now.

Exactly ! Steam families are now dead simple, whereas this new oh-so-Nintendo method seems as janky as it gets.

It does have one standout feature that Steam families do not though: ability to play shared games even when offline.

I tried it out. The current lack of BLE support excludes a fair number of controllers (Steam Controller, Xbox Series Controller amongst them). Waking with a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller works but getting the controller to properly connect after that is finnicky, oddly enough.

Prince of Persia The Lost Crown looks like a banger, but I am unwilling to spend any amount money on it until Ubi gets the memo and strips Denuvo from it (at least outside of the launch window).

Why emulate ? The Master Chief Collection is available on PC. It’s missing Halo 5 though. And then Infinite went ahead and cancelled this whole storyline.

Unfortunately, the company is now empty of employees, so the road ahead will be entirely different.

The Sniper Elite series is basically nazi-killing porn. Those won’t let you down, especially if you enjoy unplanned testicular detonations happening to nazis of any kind.

The people laid off in 2023 (no less than 16% of the company’s headcount) might have opinions upon hearing that.

Like every PvE game which does not have hundreds of people working to churn out content, its playerbase will dwindle until only those who do not get bored by its gameplay stick around. Whether it’s Left 4 Dead, Payday, Deep Rock Galactic or Vermintide, those types of games follow this pattern…

And I for one, see no fucking issue with that. It’s a great game, people play it until they have had their fill and then move on. Helldivers 2 is only an outlier because of how hard it hit at launch. It absolutely does not have the content pipeline to keep a large playerbase engaged, so yeah it will not keep printing a lot of money, just a little bit every now and then.

Not sure what you are referring to. The refund policy on Steam is the same for any games, early access or not. The game’s version number or finished state makes no difference.

Maybe you are thinking of the pre-purchase situation, where you can refund up to 14 days after the game’s release, instead of the date of purchase.

Oooh I really liked the first one. Slept on it for years then played it on Steam Deck. It was a perfect game for a portable gaming system.

I’m on the fence about Arizona Sunshine 2. I understand it’s quite short relative to its price. I might wait for a deeper discount.
