  • Of course! I’d rather send links to someone than sit there and just downvote and move on, even if said person ignores every thing I sent. I tried to help!

My go to is this: Is it Chromium? Move on!

I want to see more Gecko and Webkit browsers than yet another freaking Chromium browser!

The Chinese ownership is stated in the “opera is shady as fuck!” link I sent! When you have time, and if you care enough, I’d recommend looking at the myriad reasons why they are both just really bad browsers, even for someone who can ignore the crypto garbage!

Anyway, have a good rest of your day, Jack! :)

  • EDIT: forgot to add that I’m a 1080p gamer since 1440 and 4K are more demanding.

I currently have a 2080ti that I got all the way back in 2020. It’s been a fantastic card, but with some of these newer games, I’m struggling to get an even 60 at the least.

I’m sure that’s largely in part to developers/publishers not even remotely trying to optimize their games.

I’m lucky enough to play mainly all the older games in my Steam library, so it will last me a few more years I’m sure, but the sooner I can upgrade (at a reasonable price) the better so I can not worry about it for another 5 years. :’)

  • I believe I saw where you hear that people want small phones, they make them, and then they sell poorly. So, to the company at least, it doesn’t look like people want the smaller devices.

Now, I saw some comments in here about the smaller devices usually being less robust than their normal/pro counterparts, and that could also be a major reason small phones don’t sell.

  • Hey, OP! I was recently gifted a desktop PC, with one spare drive, and 2 drives I had in storage for “bad sectors”. I popped the old ones in (because I have a backup) and downloaded and installed TrueNAS Scale.

TrueNAS’ web UI is BEAUTIFUL and very informative at a glance. What I was NOT prepared for, was the permissions. Like you, I started out with a Synology, because I didn’t know anything. It did what it needed to do, and that was fine. I use Plex and Jellyfin, and the new desktop had a 1660 Super in it, so you bet your ass I wanted to put that to use!

TrueNAS isn’t as easy as Synology, and like I said, the permissions thing really threw me for a loop because of how the wording on things is. To me, it isn’t in english so to speak. I learned a few tricks here and there, so if you need any help, feel free to reach out and I’ll try to help! :)
