I have an attic that gets direct sun until the afternoon. It gets quite hot. I had easy access to the rafters so I used radiant barrier, and the difference is very big. As you’re putting it up you can tell that it’s blocking the heat standing in an a covered vs uncovered area. In subsequent days when it was all up it was obviously cooler. It’s still hot but not unbearable.

Radiant barrier is more expensive and fiberglass probably would have worked just as well in this situation, but I didn’t know enough about air flow in that space to tell whether fiberglass would impede anything,so I used radiant barrier and left a gap at the bottoms and tops. It is very easy to install. Fiberglass wouldn’t be too hard either, but the barrier is daed simple and there’s less volume to move around.

In general, my experience say it’s going to help, and whether you do fiberglass or radiant barrier is up to you.

You have no idea what your talking about. It is not and never was a compound word of wife and man. The word wif meant the same thing as the modern day word woman. The word wifman was a compound word that would be translated into modern English as woman-person, with the exact same meaning as woman is used to today. It had nothing at all to do with being married. I’ve read the comment chain, where you say, repeatedly, that the word woman originates with a meaning related to marriage. It doesn’t, at all. You do not understand what you are reading.

I think @grue is referring to the gap between the floor and base of the cabinets. For the most part, having legs or a box isn’t very different. I know someone who has cabinets with legs, and they sell toe kicks that attach to the front, so it looks just like a cabinet on a box (like this https://www.canarycabinets.com/dsc03526/). However, as @grue pointed out, it’s not clear to me how you’d secure an island cabinet with legs. For boxes, you attach a board to the floor, then attach the box to the board (see Figure 13 here https://www.familyhandyman.com/list/how-to-install-cabinets/). What keeps the island you have secured? If it’s only attached at the wall, I would think it could flex if force is applied to the end far from the wall. Does something hold it to the floor?

A bleach solution or white vinegar solution will kill it. You could spot test for colorfastness on all surfaces first. And there are places online that give solution ratios.

In addition to this, building up a behavior by shaping is much more powerful that luring into the behavior or capturing it. Everything I’ve taught my dog by shaping she enthusiastically loves to do, to the point where it’s hard to get her to stop. It’s like solving a puzzle for them, so they associate the behavior with something fun.

Yeah, so few people advocate for this though. It’s either fluoridation is unbalancing my humors or let’s fluoridate a bunch of water that will go down the drain.

Here’s a bad one. After watching X-Men The Last Stand I thought it was so terrible that I wanted to know what the director (Brett Ratner) had to say about this crapsterpiece.

Among a lot of bad scenes, one that stood out to me was at the start of an assault, Ian MacKallen as Magneto tells Pyro something like “Wait. In chess the pawns go first”. Then they send in a bunch of useless mutants who get slaughtered. It pans back to Magneto and he says “That’s why in chess the pawns go first”. I thought, does the director think the audience is full of idiots? Did he really just have this famous actor repeat the same line within 3 minutes?

When it gets there in the director’s commentary, Ratner says something like “Yeah, we really had this academy award winning actor say the same thing twice.” He knew it was bad, and he still did it! Why? In general, I felt like his commentary was an insight into the mindset needed to make shitty movies.

I didn’t know if this was possible so I looked for some videos.

I’m guessing it’s a right-angle quarter-turn ball valve. It’s crimped on one side and looks like a compression fitting on the other. Maybe it’s a gate valve, which in my experience are far more prone to leaks, but the notches in the handle make me think ball valve.
