What about it is a clone of Genshin Impact?

Go right ahead. If they actually manage to do it, that will be the end of my YouTube watching.
…
Except on extremely rare occasions.
I’m sorry, I just find it funny that you walked back the “I’m done with Youtube” claim in the very next sentence.
Agreed, ads are not the answer. Paying for content is the answer.
But people want their content to be free, while also being angry that their free content contains ads.
We also need people to realize that it’s not sustainable to expect free content while running an ad-blocker.
Wakestones are limited without microtransactions
But not that limited, you can find the shards and even wakestones from playing the game. Even the MTX alone you can only buy 5 max, which isn’t enough to ever make a difference in the game.
All of which just happens to encourage mistakes that can only be fixed using items which are very limited without microtransactions.
This isn’t true.
Bummer that we have to wait on the patch for the Xbox version.
I’m going to be honest, I have a hard time reading any usage of the word “gem” as something other than sarcasm these days, haha.
Always interesting to read about some of the specific considerations to go into features that may not seem that complicated at first glance (especially to the layman).
The appearance change item can be purchased in-game and portcrystals are also findable in-game. So, at best, these items provide a small “headstart” to someone playing the game from scratch.
If anything, the biggest issue is that they are kind of a waste of money.
Sounds like a accurate sequel to me, haha.
Though the micro transactions seem pretty innocuous to me?
Looks like the character limit is too low to include all the current reviews.
Do we believe them?
Is there any specific evidence to support EAC being the issue?
However, there is still no release date or even release window for Star Citizen 1.0. CIG will share the roadmap later this year.
12 years in and the update is that a later update will announce when they may, or may not, release the game.
This is, and always has been, the issue regarding this game. Even putting aside the budget they’ve burned through to date (which is impressively massive), the fact that they are still unsure of when they think the game is done is mind-boggling.
Years ago, I thought I was being relatively pessimistic that the game may take until 2023-2024 to release. And here we are in 2024 with the “release date will be announced later” updates still coming.
I wouldn’t say I necessarily have favorite developers, since I’ve rarely played and enjoyed more than a single game from a developer. At least before that developer is closed or morphed into something else.
Currently, I would say Bethesda is probably my only favorite “developer” currently going. I actually enjoyed Starfield quite a bit and have enjoyed their games going all the way back to Morrowind. Not to mention, there still isn’t anyone else that has managed to act an alternative to their style of games.
Beyond them, I’m wracking my brain trying to come up with another developer that is still putting out games and that I would classify as a “favorite developer” and not just “a developer who makes one game I like”.
Edit: FROM Software, that’s what I was probably trying to think of. I’ve definitely enjoyed quite a few of there games.
No reason the tax had to scale exactly to match the damage though. At least make it painful enough so people consider whether a larger vehicle is worth it.
Honestly, I don’t personally think that developers stop speaking to players directly. But doing so can have consequences, especially if you decide to take a more antagonistic attitude. And dealing with those consequences is the price you pay for more direct communications.
All of this drama is dumb for many reasons. It was dumb for the original comments from players that were insulting towards the devs. It’s dumb for a developer to respond in kind. And it’s dumb that people get so worked up in turn for the developer’s comments (especially the “they should be fired” cries).
But the clear point in the chain that can be severed here is on the developer’s shoulders. We’ll never get rid of 100% of the negativity/toxicity in gaming, but we can limit how much it becomes a part of the community.
It’s unfortunately a case of developers being required to stay “on mute” because of their inherent power - much like being rich, male, and white.
How does the quote go? “When you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.”
Ridiculous comparisons aside, primary issue is that there are basically no upsides and a lot of potential downsides to a developer actively like an ass in customer facing channels.
And feeding the cycle of “clapbacks” isn’t going to do the community any favors.
FFXIV will always require a subscription outside of the free trial. Game Pass will only give you the base game. But not all the expansions and only 30 days of playtime.
It’s still a subscription MMO.
He actually responded to this on Twitter.
