  • Not everyone wants to do “art”, so the assumption that AI shouldn’t make that and leave it to humans is objectively wrong. Plenty of hobbies and things people love to do recreationally has no artistic value of purpose.

Use AI however you like, it can create value wherever you see fit. You don’t like it for artistic outlet which is fine, I don’t care and think this crap you made is equally meaningless.

Why not let people who are exceptional at creating ideas but terrible at putting them in to physical/visual representation use AI to aid them with skills they don’t have?

You’d leave your toddlers unattended if you know you have a mower running? Otherwise I don’t see any risk no. Most set them up to either run during the day when no one is home, or during the night…neither scenarios put fingers in harms way.

They can also clip adult fingers (not off, they’re not that powerful, just cut them) if you put your hands under it while it’s running FYI. So yeah I guess they do require the user to not be a complete idiot.

  • The bear is in the foreground and the boat in the background, with probably at least 1.5-2m difference. Im aware polar bears are massive, but this image skews the relative size of the bear to seem larger than it actually is.

Also, have you seen a wet polar bear? They look significantly smaller when the fur is not fluffed.

  • Music isn’t just making patterns.

Oh but it actually is, and there’s been loads of studies on exactly what combinations of chords and transitions people generally find pleasing to listen to. Thats also why you can play literally thousands of popular songs from throughout modern history with the exact same 4-chord pattern. This is extensively utilised by so-called “hit makers” when producing for this exact reason, it is near universally pleasing to listen to.

It’s also about telling stories through sound

To some, sure it is. But to the music industry in general it really isn’t, it’s about making a catchy tune (usually by method mentioned above) to make some money. It’s a sad reality of the industry, like it or not.

It can’t comprehend what it means to be human, and it doesn’t have deep thoughts that drive it to create.

Again, the vast majority of music hitting mainstream channels is pretty much cookie cutter production with no deep thoughts behind it, despite being made entirely by humans.
