I think there is a possibility for an EU, China, Canada plus others… agreement to smooth over the gap from loss of US trade.
The EU are currently trying the carrot (offering zero for zero), Next comes the stick (targeted import and export tarrifs)… it would hurt the EU, but cripple the US.
You fix your mess internally, do something to deal with your government besides complain… In the other western countries we are starting to adjust to the US no longer being part of the club… act before we get used to that concept.

Unfortunately, its a double edged sword… The EU looking after its own security also means the US loses influence over the EU. Combine that with the EU being a larger market may mean a shift in gdp ratios as the EU looks within more Instead of buying services from the US.
